Lisboa has a heart for revellers
and the city's nightlife is generally considered to be amongst the
best in Europe. The night in Lisboa starts at sunset and goes on till
dawn. Undoubtedly, a side of the city not to be missed.
People in Lisboa love going out, and the city has different areas
with different styles of restaurants and bars where one can go. Areas
like Docas or Bairro Alto are among the favourites. It is
normal for a night out on the town to last until the next morning,
given that most bars don't close until 2 a.m. and discos are open
to 6 a.m. and later. Lisboa's bars, theatres, cabarets and discos
add spice to life in the city after dark.
The Fado houses, where one can savour the excellent local cooking
and listen to the emotional music of Lisboa, are unique. The options
and offers for a night out vary according to the individual's taste,
but quality and fun are always guaranteed. The Alfama has a choice
selection of street cafés, restaurants and Fado houses.
The Bairro Alto has always been a favourite with nightlife lovers,
and it has cultivated its own unique style over the years, which distinguishes
it from other nightlife areas around the city. Here you will also
find restaurants that stay open until quite late. The Bairro Alto
offers a huge selection of typical Portuguese and international cuisine,
and is also home to many bars, discos and a number of theatres. The
Zona Ribeirinha (waterfront), better known as Docas, has recently
developed into one of the liveliest nightlife areas in Lisboa. The
many restaurants, bars, street cafés and discos by the river make
a night out in Lisboa something really special. Even more recent that
the Zona Ribeirinha is the Jardim do Tobaco area, and it is already
a new favourite. Here, too, you can find restaurants, bars and esplanades,
some of which put on special shows or theme parties. |
